A life-sized, full-length statue of Margaret Bondfield wearing a shirt, skirt, cardigan and hat, with her hand outstretched and raised holding a scroll. Margaret Bondfield became the MP for Northampton in 1923. Appointed Minister of Labour in the Labour government of 1929–31, she became the first female cabinet minister and the first female privy counsellor in the UK. She was known for championing workers rights and equal opportunities for women.
