A life size statute of Napoleon with his right hand extended, holding an open container for snuff. It was used as an advertisement outside a tobacco shop from the mid-nineteenth century until c.1995. It is on a base with wheels.

The work belonged originally to John Bell, tobacconist, who was a member of the Company of Merchant Adventurers in the 1820s. Napoleon was well-known as a user of snuff and visitors to the Merchant Adventurers' Hall from France immediately make the connection between Napoleon and tobacco.
