The configuration in 'Not Titled' is bold, drawing the eye to the bright centre as iron filings to a magnet. The lines themselves appear tightly drawn. There is a precision about his work that invites comparison to scientific observation, a scrutiny of natural effects which lends lyricism to the whole. The artist has written about this painting that 'The rectangle offers an undifferentiated field; the line traces the structure of thinking. Colour renders the emotional plane of understanding. Time is measured by the making of marks.'
