During the 1980s and 1990s Pro Loco Art competitions were run in Chesterfield each year. Entrants had to register and complete their work within a specified time, usually a day, and in a specified place. This painting was the winner in 1987. David Charlesworth is a well-known local artist. The painting shows the boating lake and bandstand at Queen's Park.
