The painting shows an open view down An Linne Shlèite (The Sound of Sleat) from a high vantage point in Sabhal Mòr Ostaig.

Human presence is never far away in the work of Walker as we see here with the building of the Gaelic College forming part of the composition. The subtle cool surfaces of colour convey a calm summer light over the open sea.

Frances Walker has had a huge influence on many renowned Scottish artists, such as Will Maclean, over a very long artistic career.
