Four sound dishes emit contemporary and historical recordings, which change with local wind speed and direction. A blue LED light turns on and off to create morse code messages reacting to the recordings and creates a pulsating light visible to visitors and boats in the dark. These components reflect Shetland's changable, harsh environment and telecommunications that Shetlanders use to connect to the world beyond their shores.
