Sir Peter Simpson is a consultant anaesthetist and was President of the Royal College of Anaesthetists from 2003 to 2006. Peter has a major interest in training, examinations, assessment and accreditation of anaesthetists and is a Board Member and Acting Chairman of the new Postgraduate Medical Education Training Board (PMETB). He is also Chairman and a Trustee of the National Confidential Enquiry into Patient Outcome and Death (NCEPOD), a past Chairman of the Royal Colleges International Forum and President of the Tri-Service Anaesthetic Society.
