John Copnall was born in Slinfold, Sussex, in 1928. He studied art at a number of British institutions over the years, including the Royal Academy, but Spain was where he found his inspiration and discovered his own authentic style. His skills as a painter are profoundly evident in this graceful, poised image of a Spanish village.
