This is a memorial seat with a simple, austere look, designed to reflect the conditions troops would have endured in the trenches. The back of the seat is made from Corten steel, folded around two straight scaffold planks. Colin Henderson, a specialist fabricator, shaped the steel to flow, representing wings, as a sense of embracing and comfort, according to the artist's ideas. The scaffold planks are fastened into the winged back. The artwork is functional, spiritual and reflective.
