Two tall wooden sculptures set on a square shallow concrete plinth with carvings depicting the story of Taliesin. The Taliesin sculptures were a millennium project, funded by Llanfair Caereinion Town Council, Llanfair Caereinion & District Forum, the Welsh Development Agency and Powys County Council. Information taken from a leaflet on Llanfair Caereinion reads: 'Ceridwen bore a son Avagddu, who was so ugly he was unlikely ever to be accepted, so she decided to mix a potion to give him great wisdom. Gwion Bach, a son of Gwreang of Llanfair Caereinion, was set the task of stirring the cauldron for a year and a day, aided by Morda, a blind man. But three drops of this potion landed on Gwion's finger, which he immediately put to his mouth to soothe the heat.
