This is a copy of the antique painting ‘The Aldobrandini Mariage’, made during the time of Augustus and discovered in 1606. It is considered one of the most precious pieces of ancient art. Ten people are portrayed in the image. On the far left, two women wash their hands in the basin as another women stands, slightly screened, behind them. A half-naked woman in blue stands centre-left, leaning on a plinth. She holds something in her hands and gestures towards a bed in the centre of the painting. A man and a woman sit on the bed, embracing. A half-naked man in red with a laurel wreath sits on the floor at the end of the bed. On the far right three women stand around a golden structure as one plays the harp.
