A figure of a Cistercian monk on a small pedestal, looking up to the sky. He is holding a lamb under the left arm, with a sheep beside the monk’s feet on the right-hand side. In celebration of the millennium year, Greenfield Valley appointed six artists to create a sculpture trail within the park. The scheme was funded by the Millennium Festival Commission and supported by the Greenfield Valley Trust and various sponsors. Each of the residencies involved workshop sessions with school and/or community groups. Michael Disley worked with schoolchildren from Merllyn CP School, Bagillt, to create animals and figures from fruit and vegetables and draw designs. Greenfield Valley is a 70–acre country park with a wealth of ancient monuments and industrial history.
