The work was commissioned from Alastair Smart who died before being able to carry out the work. Tony Morrow adapted Smart’s original design to create the final work. It was originally sited on the junction of Murraygate and Commercial Street junction but moved in 1996. It was made at Powderhall Bronze foundry.
