A domestic interior with man in a cavalier costume seated on the lap of a young woman. He leans back to kiss his companion, while a second woman, in a red bodice, stands to the left holding a silver serving jug. The serving woman slightly tilts the jug towards the cavalier's glass which he holds precariously in his right hand. To the left, behind this group, another male reveller lies asleep, slumped over a closed case, on a table covered with heavy tapestry. An old woman enters the room through a doorway behind to the left. A discarded cushion lies on the on the ground in the bottom left corner, beside a broken clay pipe by the cavalier's foot. Two doves in a cage are suspended from the ceiling above the sleeping man mimic the cavalier and his companion's movements.
