Three-quarter-length portrait of a young woman in a wedding dress, sitting slightly to the right. Her head is turned to the right, in a contemplative fashion, as she sits with both hands clasping a bouquet of flowers in her lap. She wears a long transparent veil flowing over both shoulders. The portrait is coloured with light blue, white and some yellow tones. Behind the figure decorative patterns are visible resembling bunches of grapes, perhaps suggesting a cloth backdrop or mural.

The model is Carmen Watson who was painted seven times as a bride by the artist, who also used her to sit for her women in war series. Carmen was also used as a model by several other prominent artists in the 1930s.
