The sense of movement and mystery in the shapes and colours of this painting disguise where the edge of the pool is. Dark, shadowy ripples mix with the brightly coloured foliage to add to the camouflage effect. This is one of a pair of paintings entered for the John Moores Liverpool Exhibition 13, 1982. At the time the artist was resident in Battersea.
