View of a ruined Greek temple on the Egyptian island of Philae. The colonnaded outer court of the Temple of Isis can be seen on either side, the viewer being nearer to the left side. The ground between the colonnades is depicted as uneven with a broken obelisk at the end of the right side colonnade. Between the two colonnades a vivid blue sea is visible with mountainous mainland in the distance. There is a hazy blue sky above.
