Two ceramic and mosaic relief panels on a concrete base depicting traditional forms of transport (carriages, trains, boats, buses, locomotives etc.), local buildings, dates, place names and various decorative details including two crests/coat of arms (one with two deer in profile holding a shield bearing image of a tree and inscribed with the words 'CONSILIO ET ANIMIS'; another inscribed: 'LONDON & SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY COMPANY'). The work celebrates and commemorates aspects of Surbiton's history particularly its early links with the railway which it established before Kingston in 1838.
