‘Warrington Square’ was one of a series of at least six of Dublin painted around 1967. They were shown in an Exhibition at the RBA Suffolk Street Galleries.

During the time of painting this work, the artist was living at East Dulwich, London and went with a friend to visit Dublin for the first time. The Dublin streets were filled with student protesters from the Art College.
