A circular, sugar loaf shape with a ball finial at the apex, 'White Nancy' was built in 1817 by John Gaskell junior of North End Farm to commemorate the victory at the Battle of Waterloo. Although originally intended to be a summer house with a stone table and seating, the door to the interior was later blocked to prevent vandalism.
