This portrait is of William Pitt the Younger, Prime Minister and Chancellor of the Exchequer, he was also Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports from 1792 to 1806. He is shown facing his right, wearing a black jacket with three prominent brass buttons, a white linen cravat, and a grey wig. The portrait is placed within a painted oval reserve over a brown background. Painted by Gainsborough Dupont, the nephew and assistant of Thomas Gainsborough. There are several versions of this painting by Dupont.
