Alison’s specialism is in Collections Management but her first love and major interest is the history of art, in which she has a BA (Hons) from the University of York. It is a subject she has taught on the Open Learning Programme at Queens University Belfast, teaching courses in The Country House, Victorian Art and Edwardians and their Art, and she continues to develop her knowledge and interest whenever she can.

She holds an MA in Museum Studies and currently works for the National Trust as a Registrar (part-time) as well as being one of the Regional Digitisation Managers on the Art UK’s Sculpture Project. She is one of the Art Detective group leaders and was a coordinator for Art UK during the oil paintings digitisation project.
