Connor Heaney is Collections Manager for the Ray and Diana Harryhausen Foundation, and deals with the day-to-day care of Ray’s archive. His responsibilities include the cataloguing, digitisation and conservation of the collection, as well as promoting the awareness of Ray’s work and legacy through worldwide exhibitions and events. Alongside administering and managing the Foundation’s physical archive and database, Connor is responsible for promoting our objectives through social media, podcasts and other media.

Connor has been responsible for administering exhibitions of Ray Harryhausen’s artwork and models across the world, including our major centenary exhibition, ‘Ray Harryhausen: Titan of Cinema’ exhibition at the National Galleries of Scotland. He has also worked on exhibits at the Tate Britain, Barbican Centre and Science Museum Oklahoma. He has hosted screenings and spoken publicly about Ray’s work at cinemas and exhibition venues, including at MCM Comic Con London and San Diego Comic Con International. He co-hosts the Ray Harryhausen Podcast with trustee John Walsh. He assisted with the archival research for Foundation publications ‘Ray Harryhausen: Titan of Cinema’, ‘Harryhausen: The Movie Posters’ and ‘Harryhausen: The Lost Movies’.

Connor has previously worked with Historic Environment Scotland’s National Collection of Aerial Photography, one of the largest archives of aerial imagery in the world. Previous projects which he has worked on include 2014′s Creative Scotland funded project, ‘A Vision of the Commonwealth’, which showcased international aerial photography from the post-war period within a high-profile documentary.
