This catalogue includes some 3,000 full colour reproductions over 430 pages. The dimensions are 29.5 x 23.5 cm and the catalogues typically weigh between 1.8 - 2.8 kg.

This West Yorkshire volume reveals all the oil paintings in public ownership in the county outside Leeds (this city was the subject of an earlier volume in the series, West Yorkshire: Leeds). By far the largest collection in this catalogue is that of Cartwright Hall in Bradford with its extensive holding of nineteenth and twentieth century works. Other large collections shown include Bankfield Museum in Halifax, Huddersfield Art Gallery and Wakefield Art Gallery. In total, some 3,000 paintings are reproduced in this catalogue.
