The paintings in Abbey House consist of local scenes and dignitaries along with general pictures used to dress this fine 18th century house. The topographical pictures include a 1750 landscape showing an encampment of soldiers outside the city, views of Winchester at around 1900 by local artist Beatrice Corfe, together with classical landscapes. Portraits in Abbey House include mayors Silver, Baigent and Stopher together with Winchester MP Richard Moss who left a fund for the city that allows for a reception to be held in his memory every year.
