Ashton Town Hall is situated in the lively market town of Ashton-under-Lyne. The building is part of Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council and doubles both as Council offices, community centre and the location for two of the borough's museums; the Museum of the Manchester Regiment and Setantii Museum. Many prestigious events are held in the Mayor's Parlour, in which some paintings from the Astley Cheetham Art Collection are displayed. Both museums and the Astley Cheetham Art Collection are managed by the Borough's Museums and Galleries Service.
