More about

Crail Museum is a small local history museum run entirely by volunteers. It is situated in the East Neuk of Fife and was established in 1979. The painting 'Town Hall and Marketgate' by Joe Milne is an excellent example by the artist; his works are described in the 'Concise Dictionary of Scottish Painters' as 'atmospheric pictures with a good use of colour'. Also enjoying pride of place in the Town Hall, due to their size, are two portraits of local dignitaries: James Peattie by William Pratt and Dr W. Bonthrone by John Horsburgh. Both subjects were Provosts of the Royal Burgh of Crail. Most treasured and admired amongst our oil paintings are those by Reginald Duncan.
