Nottinghamshire County Council has an extensive collection of artefacts, put together over many years and still growing. Many are gifts from visiting delegations from all over the world. The County Hall collection of oil paintings includes portraits of distinguished members and officers of the County Council, lining the stairwell of County Hall, and a varied collection of local scenes. These include the River Trent, Rufford Abbey and Newstead Abbey.
