More about

The Museum is housed in a two storey weather-boarded building, one of the last representatives in Tenterden of a type of industrial building common in the area in the latter part of the nineteenth century. It was opened in 1976 and is run entirely by volunteers. It gained full registration under the Museums and Galleries Commission scheme in 1992 and achieved full Museums Libraries and Archives Council accreditation in 2007. The association serves as a focus for research and enquiry and provides a repository for artefacts connected with the area.
