More about

The Castle, Bude was designed and built by Cornish engineer and inventor, Sir Goldworthy Gurney in 1830. The building includes a Heritage Centre with a variety of displays chronicling the history of Bude and the surrounding area. Two art galleries provide visitors with a changing exhibition programme featuring local artists. Café Limelight offers a delicious range of cakes and light lunches with the best sea view in Bude. The Castle is also a licensed wedding venue. The Heritage Centre includes an important painting by Robert Lenkiewicz, depicting local members of The Sealed Knot in costume. There are also local scenes by British artist Charles Henry Branscombe.
