Tudor House and Garden

Southampton City Museums

More about

Built in 1495 for Sir John Dawtrey, who was the Controller of Customs in Southampton, and saved 500 years later by Alderman Spranger, Tudor House was bought by the City and opened as a museum in 1912. Having recently undergone a massive program of restoration, Tudor House re-opens to tell the story of the house through the lives of the people who lived and worked there.
